How to reset user passwords as an admin

Username or user ID and password are the login details required for authentication on SAFSMS. However, in case a user forgets their password, it can be reset by the admin.


The following steps will guide you through how to reset password as an admin user for staff, student or parent.


Resetting password for a staff by admin


  1.  Click on Admin
  2. Locate or search for Manage Users under Search for activity using relevant information, 
  3. Choose User Accounts
  4. Click on Staff as show in the figure below


NB: Copy the circled user ID and password and give to Staff/Students/parents as the case may be to login.

5. Search for the user


6. Click on the user’s name


7. Press the Reset Password button, a new password will be created as shown in the figure below.

Resetting password for a student by admin


Follow steps 1 to 3 above then select Student as step 4. Follow the rest of the step till the end to reset the student's password.


Resetting password for a parent by admin


Follow steps 1 to 3 above then select Parent as step 4. Follow the rest of the step till the end to reset the parent's password.
